Currently laughing at what an insane place Instagram can be at times and I’m hoping I can help you navigate it. The thing that got me writing this? Hashtag: ‘ban the beige’. Oh no!!! Beige is out? The gurus are saying to BAN it??? It’s done. It’s over. Run out to the shops IMMEDIATELY and spend more than you have on a completely new home decor. Do it right now! You bad beige people. You... outsiders.
Excuse me whilst I roll my eyes hard into the back of my head 🙄🙄🙄.
BUT - big BUT - here’s the kicker: Whilst you go about this change that has been called for, you also shouldn’t be overly consumptive OR take any unnecessary actions because that’s bad and harmful to the environment. To our Mother Earth whom you must take action for and care about. Hhhhhhhhmmmmm? What now?? I’ll tell you - advertising like this exists to make you feel bad about yourself, to tell you you’re not good enough and to tell you you’re not conventional enough or fashionable enough. It sets a standard of impossibility - change unnecessarily but be environmentally friendly. It exists to tell you your choices should be BANNED they’re so bad. That fundamentally, you need to change. You don’t. You - Do - You.
Yours faithfully, a very happy beige person who won’t be changing a single damn thing for anyone.
PS - I ADORE all of the colourful home accounts and would never rally anyone to change themselves, their tastes or their homes. Your home is a little piece of your soul. Do what you want with it. I promise you, nothing is banned. This is one thing I won’t be ‘neutral’ on. Xxx

#sponsored Here on instagram, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to connect with so many farmers and ranchers. I see countless families sharing their stories, and I want to stop to say how much I admire you. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Today on National Ag Day, I want to acknowledge and thank my fellow ranchers and farmers! We hear a lot about factory farms these days, but in actuality, the majority of beef comes from family ranches just like ours. ⁣
⁣
As I write this, I think about my neighbors and friends that raise beef alongside us. I think of the mom with three little ranchers learning how to rope and ride since they could walk. I think about the ranch wife that serves as the teacher, cook, accountant, and ranch hand, usually all in the same day. I think about the sons and daughters that walk in the footsteps of those before them, sometimes many generations deep. We do what we do to provide quality protein to feed our communities, and we couldn’t be more proud to call ourselves cattle ranchers⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thank you to the rancher that skipped dinner to make sure that cow calved okay. The rancher that wakes before dawn every single day to get the animals fed. The rancher that works a second job to make ends meet. The rancher that's raising babies on horse back. The rancher with a small herd and the rancher with a couple thousand head. I think now more than ever we are all aware just how important agriculture is in our day-to-day lives, and I want to extend my gratitude. ⁣
⁣
Today I invite you to share your ag stories to celebrate all of the farmers and ranchers within our communities! Use #NationalAgDay in your post, I can’t wait to read your stories!⁣⁣
