Slow living Sundays are my favorite! ✨We took a drive out of town to explore the backroads of the country to get inspiration on a project we are about to start outside. It’s a project we’ve been waiting to do for a long time but the real life is, things take time when building a home with intention. It takes patience and a lot of saving and planning and waiting for the time to come. It’s all about enjoying the journey! 💫
.
After I transitioned our dining nook I felt like something was needed on the wall here but I wanted it to have meaning for the space. Then a lightbulb moment happened and I grabbed my @letterfolk and started with a new message. ✨ #sundaysupper #letterboardquotes (oh and hop over to my stories on a few little tips to hanging/cleaning your letter boards)
.
Do you gather around the table with your family for meals?! We do. Not every meal of course because we are not all together but at least once a day we are around gathering, sharing life. Nothing fancy either, just gathering. It’s an important thing to push for in our busy world. It’s a reason why our dining table is always pretty simple, not a place for a lot of decor but an open welcome spot to come as you are. 🙌🏼
.
Hope you have had a restful Sunday and ready to start a fresh new week. 💫 You can click the link in my bio to go to this blog post to see more inspiration. I appreciate you more than you know for taking a peek over there as I’m becoming to learn a new creative adventure. 😌

A little confession but first how is everyone’s resolutions/goals going?! We’re three weeks into the new year but I gave a little hope on the blog under this post if you want to be encouraged a little and how to shift your mindset. Even though we have new years, we really get a fresh new start EVERY SINGLE day and to me that brings me great joy to live with intention! ✨You can see this full post by clicking the link in my bio + if you haven’t stopped by the blog lately I invite you to go check out the content. ☺️

It’s been quite busy for us lately. In December we were faced with a huge decision, a shift in our path that I thought I had the whole plan all set out. But we jumped without having the plan B in place and now we’ve been in a transition, still getting use to it, but so eagerly anticipating this new path. I find comfort knowing that God knows the whole path way before I ever do and I’m just called to take one little step of faith. I hope to share more soon but thanks for being patient with me! 😌
.
And don’t worry my tree is not up still (if you swipe over) but for the confession it sure was a few weeks past Christmas. We just weren’t ready for it to past. We had so much going on, it was nice to let the season linger. .
We’re still friends right?! 😂 Now that confession is said, I can move on! 😂
.
Something so cute arrived and I’ll show you tomorrow so check back in stories! and I loved all the feedback you guys are giving from my Target Run today ✨and my new hair style. 🤪

2019 was a pretty full year of adventures, including this surreal pinch me kind of moment! To have a huge feature in a national magazine like @betterhomesandgardens was just the icing on the cake for 2019. Who ever would have thought that a small hometown girl, who grew up with a deep love of design and magazines, would one day draw an audience from them. My life started in design but then I answered a different call but yet have arrived full circle. Looking back, this was the exact path for my journey. 💫
.
We also ended the year with launching www.whitetailfarmhouse.com with a blog + a pop up shop! Which I’m so eager to drive into this space more in 2020! ✨
.
I would love to end this year, this decade with a heart full of thankfulness!! Thankful to a God who gently calls me to trust deeper, thankful to a family who loves and supports beyond measure and thankful to YOU a community full of kindness, encouragement and inspiration. I have been so blessed by each of you and I’m so thankful for all the friendships this path has brought!! 💫 You were such a big part of this magazine feature and our site launch! I want you to know how much I appreciate you and you cheering me on with all your love and support! 😘
.
And....a big shout out to the editor @ablevs1234 who believed in me even more. I will never forget when she reached out to me and my first words were “are you sure?!” 😂 Goodness! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankfully she said yes!! Then she sent out the most amazing duo, styling by @goodegirlmedia and photos by @wildeproject who are both one of the best in their industry! I’m forever grateful!
.
Here’s to 2020! A fresh new decade to ring in! Happy New Years friends! 🥳🌟

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself and there are many new followers around here so here we go: I’m Misha, and this is the start of my second year on our Bainbridge Island hobby farm. Below are some things about me, let me know if we share any of these in common. 1) We have 22 animals including goats 🐐 , Icelandic sheep 🐑 , alpacas 🦙, and German Shepherds 🐾 . Most of our animals are rescues. 2) We will be adding a bunch of chickens 🐓to the mix in a few weeks - as soon as our coop build is complete. 3) I just recently discovered my passion for gardening 🌸 both flowers and food and it has brought me more joy than any other hobby or interest I’ve had. It’s safe to say I’m obsessed! 4) I’m in love with black barns and black farmhouses, and we are currently in the process of remodeling our farmhouse...yes it will be black! 5) We have a farm stay guest cottage on our property but we will be moving into it in just a week’s time so that we can completely gut our main house. 6) I am happily married with 2 daughters. 7) I’ve always loved to travel and explore. My favorite type of travel is based around unique nature experiences. I’ve been to somewhere around 90 countries. My favorites are Namibia, Canada, Switzerland, Tanzania, Chile, and Italy. I head to New Zealand in 3 weeks and I’m sure that one will top the charts. 8) I’ve never eaten meat in my entire life, and 6 months ago I cut dairy out of my diet too, so I guess you could say I’m plant based (I love all veggies!) but I do still eat eggs for nutritional reasons. 9) I’m a runner and recently started doing yoga and I love it. 10) Being active in nature is one of my favorite things ever! Hiking 🥾, trail running 🏃🏻‍♀️, biking 🚴🏻‍♀️, boating 🛥, and many other nature-focused adventures fuel my soul. 11) I’d like to focus a lot of my 2020 energy on giving and sharing the bounty of my garden. Whether it’s flowers to brighten someone’s day, or donating homegrown food to people in need. Last year was my practice run, this year I’ve got a purpose for it all. 🌻 Your turn!
