A classic among squirrel proof feeders, this has ports that close under a squirrels weight, preventing the squirrel from raiding the seed supply. This Squirrel-Be-Gone Wild Bird Metal Tube Bird Feeder features 6 feeding ports and a u-shaped perche. The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed. The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork. The 6 perch or feeding station set up, coupled with the anti-squirrel technology makes this feeder of the most economical and convenient squirrel proof feeders on the market.

These bird feeders certainly frustrate the squirrels, particularly the late gray variety. The tension can be adjusted by moving a wired spring into one of several holes based on how much your invading critters weigh. It’s possible chipmunkswill not put enough weight on the perches to move the outer cover downward, effectively covering the seed access holes, but chipmunks are not the seed-stealers squirrels are. These feeders hold a large amount of seed so they don’t need to be filled as often, and they are quite attractive. Glad we bought them as a package of 2.

Large capacity feeders that seem to frustrate squirrels. At most, they get a taste of some scattered seed but they can’t hang out and feast as they did on the old feeders. Quality appears good. Time will tell if they are durable.

Great feeder. My Cardinal and Woodpecker were all over it within minutes. Holds plenty of feed and the squirrels don’t bother with it. Looks great, too!

Definitely confuses the squirrels but found I needed to use a smaller seed than a sunflower to keep from clogging the feeding holes.
