Product Description
Sawdust City wood trash bin holders are made from solid wood, and hold up to daily use year after year.
Our Tilt-Out Trash Bins do not use highly processed wood. The final look and finish is intended to be rustic and aged, with visible knots and other minor imperfections. Our Solid finish provides a more clean and modern look, but our finish is NOT like a veneer.
With our tilt-out design, the top of the trash bin stays stationary, and can be used to hold a microwave or other small appliance, serve as additional counter space, or be paired with one of our top hutches for more upper shelf storage.

Real Wood & ScrewsAt Sawdust City, we use real wood, not particle board or MDF. We also use screws, not air nails. Because we use real and heavy-duty materials, your trash bin will stand up to years of use without breaking or coming loose. |
Simple & EffectiveOur tilt-out design is pretty simple, and it works to keep the door open or closed on its own, with no extra mechanisms to break down. The weight of the floor and bin keep the door closed, and the block stoppers keep it from tipping onto the floor. |
2 Finish OptionsOur painted trash bin holders come in two different finishes. Our Old Finish has one coat of paint, with the edges distressed for a warm, aged look. Our Solid Finish has two coats of paint with no edge distressing for a cleaner, modern look. |

Poor Quality Control & Not Worth the PriceIt was damaged when the first part arrived. I contacted the seller and they were great about sending a replacement. BUT, that replacement was wrong. The holes were not drilled out correctly and there weren’t any holes drilled out for hinges like on the other piece to keep the wood from splitting, so my husband had to drill new ones. No biggie, except that this thing cost almost $700 and that’s ridiculous. We had already waited over a week for the piece to get here, so it just wasn’t worth requesting another at that point. As far as the rest of the piece goes, it’s lazy. It’s not near worth the money spent. The paint job is pathetic. It’s one coat of flat paint, as advertised. But that means you HAVE to paint it because you can’t clean it and every little knot and blemish bleeds through.None of the screws were right, according to the instructions. There wasn’t the right needed amount of any of them.Lastly, the wainscot/headboard on the back of the inside doesn’t even match. On one side it’s running horizontal and on the other it’s vertical. So incredibly lazy and poor on their part.We are so disappointed in this piece. But it’s one of those things that, once you’ve got it here and got it all out to put together, they know you’re not going to want to send it back. So, we’ll have to settle for this subpar review and I’ll have to paint the thing to make it work. You’re better off building it yourself or buying one of the knock-off cheapos it’s showing you in suggestions. I wanted real wood. But I also wanted quality. Evidently you can’t get both.

Sturdy, well made, looks good, love itEasy to assemble – hardest part is lining up screws to holes. Made very solid- doubt I’ll ever need to buy another. Would’ve preferred a smoother/glossy finish, but thats just my preference. Bought the labels separately

Assembled, sturdy and a great addition to the kitchen! We are so happy with this purchase! I was searching for a nice looking, sturdy piece of furniture that would nicely hide our trash and recycling bins from the dog. I wanted something bright white, and large enough for 13 gallon trash cans (most other items like this were 9-gallon cans). After searching through several sites like Amazon, Wayfair and Overstock, I landed on this piece. I purchased the largest one, with the interior shelves and the tall cabinet height. I purchased the solid white option. I am very pleased! This arrived in three separate large boxes. Unbeknownst to me, it was already 75% assembled! The rest of the assembly was easy, screwing on the countertop, and screwing on the doors. The piece is lined up about 95%, we did have to drill and additional hole or two, but it was very very easy.I have ordered furniture from Amazon before, and have received very smooth, polished finished pieces that you can tell are made of weird wood blends, or are low-quality wood pieces, but with this item, you can tell it made of quality, sturdy, heavy duty wood. You can feel the texture of the wood, and see the beautiful wood grain. I personally would like a little smoother of a finish, but that may make for a fun weekend project. One minor challenge we had, were the pre-drilled holes in the countertop. While we were able to line it up and assemble it easily, the filler wood pieces that came with it didn’t quite fit. We used a mallet to hammer them down, and not all of them would get pressed into the hole fully. I anticipate that I will be smoothing this out with sandpaper and repainting, but that is totally fine for the great quality wood piece we ordered. I appreciate that the seller also sent a small container of paint for further touch ups. Since these will be used in my kitchen, I anticipate high traffic, finger prints, smudges and discolorations, so the extra paint will be a huge savior when I need it!I do think the price was a little higher than what I was looking to pay, however, given the quality, study product, the pre-assembled pieces being shipped directly to my door, and for the great way this piece turned out, I think it was worth it. I do believe these will hold up well. Also – I didn’t realize the products were from Eau Claire, Wisconsin – where I went to school! Happy to support a “local” crafts company when we can!

Beautiful trash binOur unfinished trash bin arrived today, what a beautiful piece! It’s built like a custom kitchen cabinet. We can’t wait to put it together and finish it like our Kraft Maid cabinets that we just finished distressed white. Kind of jealous we didn’t receive a free sign like the other customers had commented about :-(.

Great pieceSturdy, rustic, easy to assemble. Hides the trash/recycling cans perfectly and doubles as our coffee/tea bar, freeing up much needed counter space. What I appreciate the most is that it is made of actual wood and not cheap particle board. Great piece, great craftsmanship, could not be happier .

Love it!I think this is slightly over priced but even with that in mind I highly recommend. I love it because it fits perfectly in my kitchen and things look much neater because of it. It’s well made too.

I am so glad I don’t have to stare at another trash can…I can’t express how nice it is to have hidden trash cans and free up some space. We had a kitchen cart here before and now we can combine it with the trash cans which is amazing for our somewhat crowded kitchen. It was easy peasy to build which was the best part! I hated opening the super layered boxes, but I was grateful the product arrived well packaged and unscathed. We will see how long she holds up with a toddler slamming it daily cleaning. 🙂
